As part of its ongoing LEAN initiative aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness, Preco has unveiled a strategic redesign of its Contract Manufacturing facility located in Somerset, Wisconsin.
The redesigned facility incorporates a series of enhancements made to optimize processes, streamline operations, and elevate overall performance for customers. These improvements include:
- Maximized layout of the 100,000 square-foot space for improved material flow
- Addition of two new workstations to increase machine capacity, reduce lead time, boost productivity, and enhance material traceability
- Optimization of 12 workstations for laser heat treating, welding, and cladding to facilitate more efficient material flow and visual work cell management
- Implementation of standardized production communication boards aimed at driving operational efficiency, enhancing productivity, and fostering transparency
- Localization of product inspection processes for greater control at the source and reduced risk of defects
