Preco Unveils Strategic Redesign of Contract Manufacturing Facility

SOMERSET, WI, April 18, 2024 – Preco, LLC, a leading material processing systems designer and manufacturer specializing in laser and die cutting solutions and contract manufacturing services (CMS), is proud to announce a significant milestone in its commitment to operational excellence. As part of its ongoing LEAN initiative aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness, Preco has unveiled a strategic redesign of its Contract Manufacturing facility located in Somerset, Wisconsin.

The redesigned facility incorporates a series of enhancements made to optimize processes, streamline operations, and elevate overall performance for customers. These improvements include:

• Maximized layout of the 100,000 square-foot space for improved material flow
• Addition of two new workstations to increase machine capacity, reduce lead time, boost productivity, and enhance material traceability
• Optimization of 12 workstations for laser heat treating, welding, and cladding to facilitate more efficient material flow and visual work cell management
• Implementation of standardized production communication boards aimed at driving operational efficiency, enhancing productivity, and fostering transparency
• Localization of product inspection processes for greater control at the source and reduced risk of defects
